3 Children Injured, Police seize Narcotics in Landikotal

PAKISTAN: Three children were injured when a veranda fell down in farflung Bazar Zakhakhel area of Landikotal tehsil, officials said on Friday.

They said that due to heavy rain, veranda of the home of Mulakhel all of a sudden caved in and burried the children alive. Neighbours who heard about the incident rushed to the site and retrieved the chilren alive. They were rushed to a near by hospital. 

Village council-28 Bazar Zakhakhel elected member Attaullah Afridi said a number of other houses also damaged in the recent rain and flash floods spell last week. He urged the government to compensate the suffered families.

Meanwhile, assistant commissioner on Landikotal Irshad Ali handed over cheques of rupees 1.5 million to the family members of five bereaved who had lost their near and dear ones in the rain related incident last week. 

Narcotics seized

Police in a raid foiled a bid to smuggle heroin and Ice drugs from a car. Additional Station House Officer(SHO) Fazal Rehman and Zinat Khan told journalists that they were on routine patrol when they found an abandoned car near Charwazgay. They said no one was around the car. They said police recovered six kilograms heroin and three kilograms Ice drugs from the car. The drugs were concealed in the hidden cavities of the car. 

The car was taken into police custoday and report registered in the Landikotal police station for further investigation.
