Justice Amir Nazir Says Seminaries Should Teach Modern Studies

LANDIKOTAL:Senior judicial officer Justice Amir Nazir on Sunday praised the role of Darul Uloom Islamia Al-Farooqia in Shakas said that it was the lone seminary promoting both modern and Islamic education in the society.
Justice Amir Nazir,who is currently serving as Bajaur District and Sessions Court Judge, while speaking to the graduation ceremony emphasized the significant role of Darul Uloom Islamia Al-Farooqia, Shakas in Jamrud, in promoting peace and social reforms.

He said the institution as a model for religious seminaries, offering a harmonious blend of religious, spiritual and contemporary education.

He said that Islam advocates for peace in society, which could only be sustained through a system of justice and fairness. He praised the seminary for nurturing peace and social reform for several decades.

Highlighting the institution’s efforts, Justice Nazir mentioned that it provides modern education and training of international standards to orphans and street children, offering them free education, food and accommodation. He added that Darul Uloom Islamia Al-Farooqia conducts online classes for Pakistanis residing in Europe, America and other countries, setting it apart in its religious services.

Justice Nazir urged other religious seminaries to follow the model of Darul Uloom Islamia Al-Farooqia in integrating religious and contemporary education to meet the needs of the modern world.

The founding member of seminary Malik Hafiz Maulana Fazal Malik said the seminary was inaugurated in 1999 now 25 years completed successfully. He said It was like a ray of light in the darkness when the region was the centre of lawlessness.He said the seminary being run under the supervision of government where students get purely Islamic studies

Six disciplines including children garden, Al-Quran Acedmy, Books of schools and religious studies, proper schooling upto grade 6th, online classes for students from abroad were currently taught in the Madrassa.
Beside the notable guests, including Additional auditor general Alif Jan, regional director of World Health Program Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Dr Abdul Rehman and National Highway Authority(NHA) North Member Muhammad Amjad Khan and notables from the civil society,officials from various government departments, political and social figures, scholars, local leaders and hundreds of students and parents.

The guests distributed certificates to 525 students who excelled in various exams, including 121 in Quran memorization,(Qari) 388 in Nazira Quran,(Recitation) 3 in online Nazira Quran and 14 in Tafseer-ul-Quran.

Mufti Raees ur Rehman recited the final versus of Quran to the passing out students.

It may be added here that the Jamia was also running a world standard school,now upgrading to university level, where poor students not on get free education but they were also provided free food and hostel facilities.
