Nwoye distributes palliatives, cash to constituents, demands release of abducted colleague

Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dr Tony Nwoye has donated food items and other palliatives to people of his constituency.

The lawmaker also donated over N200 million to selected 3762 stakeholder (38 persons per ward in each of the 99 wards) in the district and 7 Local Governments of Anambra North.

The gift items included 2,000 bags of 50kg, 5,500 bags of 25kg, 10,000 bags of 10kg with cartons of Groundnut oil, tin tomatoes, Bags of Salts, cartons of Maggi and seasoning to constituents in 99 political wards of Anambra North Senatorial District.

Speaking during the distribution, Nwoye said the donation was part of measures of giving back to the society for the love and solidarity he had enjoyed from them.

He acknowledged Nigerians were going through tough time, stressing that the palliatives were not for only stakeholders and party members but for the entire members of his constituency.

“I will never take your support for granted. I assure you I will continue to provide leadership for a better Anambra North and Anambra State.

“Stakeholders in all 99 wards of Anambra North have been carefully selected. They are not part of the rice sharing.

“These selected stakeholders, who were 38 in number from each ward in all the 7 Local Governmeent areas of Anambra North will be given financial support for Christmas,” he added.

While changing Ndi Anambra, Christians and Nigerians to promote peace and love during the celebration, the Senator called for immediate release of Hon Justice Azuka, Labour Party House of Assembly Member, who was recently kidnapped.

He also challenged Governor Chukwuma Soludo to take urgent steps to address worsening security situation in the State.

According to Nwoye, the gesture was from All Labour Party Representatives in Anambra North, including Peter Anekwe (Anambra East & West Federal Constituency, Afam Ogene (Ogbaru Federal Constituency), Iduu Emeka (Onitsha North & South Federal Constituency, Jude Umennajiego (Onitsha South 2, Hon Fred Ezenwa (Onitsha South 1, Hon Pat Okafor (Onitsha North 2 and Justice Azuka Onitsha North 1).
