Anambra 2025: You won’t lose single vote in Awka – Group assures Soludo

Members of former chairmen and women leaders forum of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has praised Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for transforming Awka capital into a world-class city through his human-oriented and infrastructural development revolutions.

Coordinator of the forum, Mr. Ikechukwu Anene and former Chairman APGA, Awka Ward 6 and the current Deputy Chairman of Awka South Local Government Council stated during a solidarity visit to MD/CEO, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Hon Ossy Onuko.

He disclosed that Soludo’s developmental giant stride within the short period in his office motivated them to drum support for him. 

While regretting several years of neglect of the capital city by previous administrations since its creation in 1991, Anene assured the Governor that no vote would be lost in Awka in 2025 gubernatorial election in view of the developmental feats he had achieved so far.

“The forum was created to ensure that no stone is left unturned in support of the governor. As former leaders of the party at the grassroots, we have enomous experience and willpower required to guarantee APGA’s victory in all elections,” he stressed.

Also speaking, first female ward Chairman in Awka South, Mrs. Bridget Okeke who was former Chairman of Umuokpu ward 7, hinted that Soludo had made the election a lot easier for party faithful by his good works across the state.

Appreciating the governor for appointing a young and vibrant son of Awka, Hon. Ossy Onuko, to be part of his development agenda for the capital city, Okeke noted that Awka has never had it this good in many years of its existence as the state capital.

“Today, we have good roads, dual carriage ways and lots of heavy infrastructural developments like the world class recreation centre and new government house ongoing. 

“We are happy that shanties and street trading are being fought fiercely in the city. When you drive through the capital city, you feel alot different now”, she said.

In his remarks, former Chairman of Awka Ward 5, Mr. Alex Chinwuko, appreciated Awka Capital Territory Development Authority’s efforts to restore sanity and order in the town, assuring of their support and goodwill. 

“For Soludo to remember the innercity of Awka and rescue us from the menace of flooding, we will be eternally grateful and indebted to him,” he noted.

Responding, ACTDA Boss, Hon Ossy Onuko thanked the group for their sensitivity in acknowledging the good work of governor Soludo across the state. 

He noted that Soludo’s administration operates an open door policy, at the same time has a listening ears to the yearning of the people. 

“Governor Soludo has imprinted his name on gold of leadership stand in Anambra State hence, needs to be given more works beyond 2025,” he added.

Highlight of the occassion was installation of Hon. Ossy Onuko, as the first patron of the organisation with members drawn from nine wards of Awka Constituency A.
