Frontier Corps(FC) and law enforcement agencies on Sunday night conduct search operation in Sultankhel village in Landikotal and killed three terrorists in firing with security forces, official sources said on Sunday.
They said that during the search operation, terrorists opened gunfiring which was retaliated by FC personnel, resulting in the death of three terrorists.
Officials said that the terrorists killed in the gun clash were involved in the murder of journalist Khalil Jibran, who was assassinated on June 18, 2024 near to his home in Sultankhel village in Landikotal.
Furthermore, the terrorists were also implicated in the killings of two police officers,officials said.
The search operation still going on in the area to eliminate the remaining threats, the FC sources added.
Meanwhile, a gun clash also took place in Laka Sar Hills in Mulagori area of Jamrud tehsil on Sunday. Officials said captain Zoheb embraced martyrdom while two other security personnel also injured in the clash.
Five died in roof collapse in Landikotal: Five people of the same family including women and children were died when roof of a house collapsed in Alacha village of Landikotal tehsil in district Khyber. Army and police officials and locals went to Alacha village and condolled the tragic death of family members. They also attended the funeral prayer of the deceased.
