Champlain Corps Policing Explorer (CHAPOL) Anambra State Command has called for all hands to be on deck for moral impact on students and pupils for a better society.
The State Commandant, Dr. Joseph Ekwunife made the call during its 10th Annual Conference on Moral Values for Students of the 268 Government Secondary Schools in Anambra.
The event held at Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, had its theme, “Building Youths With Strong Moral Values, The Only Hope for A New Nigeria”
He said CHAPOL has, for the past eleven years assisted in fighting social vices and moral decadence in schools through mentorship and character reformation thereby bringing about changes.
“Our commitment to fighting social vices, moral decadence in schools is unwavering. We call for collective efforts towards instilling good values in students and pupils in the state,” he stated.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo appreciated CHAPOL for consistently discharging its responsibilities.
Soludo, represented by Managing Director of Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation Office, Sir Chuka Nnabuife called for the extension of their operations.
A guest lecturer, Maxwell Okoye underscored the place of parents and teachers in ensuring youths have high mora l standards through sound leadership.
He said Federal Government has set up a Presidential Committee Against social vices.
“Parents and schools have a great task in ensuring that youths have high moral standards through sound leadership,” he added.
Highlights of the event included, unveiling of Out of The Crowd Season 3 titled, “The Misery of Unplanned Future”, presentation of awards to distinguished Anambrarians, presentation of highlights of CHAPOL operations in schools, drama presentation, among others.
