The Spiritual Head of Soul Revival Outreach, Nnewi, Anambra State, Prophet Ikechukwu Uzukwu has blamed former President Muhammadu Buhari for the untold hardship being experienced by many Nigerians at the moment.
Prophet Uzukwu made this assertion while briefing journalists in Nnewi yesterday.
He pointed out that rather than blaming the incumbent President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the hardship in the country, Nigerians should squarely place the entire blame on the former President Buhari who incurred huge debt for the country while in office.
The Anambra based prophet noted that the former president threw the nation into an unprecedented huge debt burden which the incumbent administration is grappling with.
He sought for explanations to billions of dollars the Nigerian government has been borrowing without any positive impact on the living condition of the masses.
Prophet Uzukwu said that it has always been his opinion that the money borrowed by the federal government over the years had continued to be looted by the same borrowers, a situation which he noted became rampant during the last administration.
“Let them tell us how they have been paying back those loans. We know this to be one of the major factors responsible for the nation’s economic strangulations. This has become a big burden to the Nigerian government and has crippled almost all the developmental initiatives.
“Many Nigerians blame President Tinubu without the knowledge of what transpired. Tinubu inherited so much debts from Buhari administration and he now takes the blames for the hardship in country which in all honesty was caused by the former regime.
“I expect Tinubu to do something about it. Let him invite all those who mismanaged the economy and let them account for what they did. It’s not the former CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele alone that should be held. There must be other people who did monetary policies with him. He should not suffer alone.
“People are suffering, people are dying everyday of hunger and starvation caused by the maladministration of certain leaders. They should be brought to book. People who deliberately make others suffer are allowed to go scott-free and nothing is done to serve as a deterrent. That’s why corruption, financial looting and mismanagement has become the order of the day, “he said.
On killings in the South East, Prophet Uzukwu described as nonsensical continued detention of the leader of the IPOB, Mazi Nnamani Kanu by the Nigerian government.
He queried whether his detention over the years had produced any positive result noting that Kanu’s detention had rather increased security challenges in the South East.
“Let them tell us whether agitation had stopped since the detention of Kanu by the DSS. Holding him there causes more harm than good in the South East. It is rather punishment to the Igbo. Look at killings everywhere including security operatives and the civilian population who fall victims from time to time because of the detention of Kanu.
“Federal government should please release Kanu without further delay to stop these senseless killings in the South East since it’s now obvious that his detention has been responsible for the insecurity in the South East. To add the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu to marginalization of Ndigbo is to say the least, “he noted.
Uzukwu also took a swipe on the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike who he said had no right to question how an Igbo man acquires his property in Abuja.
He said that Mr President should ask Wike to guard his tongues and as well mind his utterances against Ndigbo.
“Where was he when Nicholas Ukachukwu acquired his landed property in Abuja? If an Igbo man is not qualified to own such property in Abuja, Wike is also not qualified to be a Minister in Abuja because he has Igbo blood in him. He should stop acting the Superman of Abuja,” he asserted.
