Lawyer assumes Chief Priest of Anambra deity

Chief Barr. Pat Agbata, (a.k.a. Akadike Ogidi), Chief Executive Officer, Ogbuagu Chamber, Ogidi),  Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, is now the Chief Priest of Ogbuonyeukwu deity, located at Obi Ogbuonyeukwu shrine, Okpalaeze kindred, Uruezealor village, Ogidi

It was gathered that the triumphant entry of Agbata into the shrine and taking possession as Chief Priest was after he received the offor from Okwuani Ogidi deity.

Expressing satisfaction with the elevation to the post of a Chief Priest, Chief Agbata disclosed that he never knew that when he was developing the shrine and feeding the deity at a tender age that he will one day  be appointed the Priest.

“The ballot fell on me that I will be the Chief Priest because the spirit said I am the most holy to take up the post amongst my brethren/relations. So today is Eke  market day, last two weeks I was at Okwuani Ogidi shrine where I received the offer (staff of office), and today I have entered the  Obi Ogbuonyeukwu shrine, as the Chief Priest of Ogbuonyeukwu deity.

“The expectation is that from today it will be blessing and progress all the way. Whoever that comes here with any problem it is solved, the barren shall give birth,; the sick shall be healed and the poor becomes rich. Whoever that comes with bad intension it shall be back to sender.

“In Ogidi our family is the poorest but today with my attainment as the Chief Priest it is going to be rapid development. We are going to be highest both in riches and population.. in the shrine there are days of worship and as such it will not affect my legal practice,” he assured.

Reacting, High Chief Chinwatakweaku, said he expected good things to happen now that Agbata is the Chief Priest even as he advised him to always say the truth as expected of him as Chief priest but can lie in English language when practicing his legal profession.

Ugwuagu J. Okwuchukwu who brought the sacrificial goat, fowl, among others, stated that he brought those items to ensure success of the entry and take over as Chief Priest in the shrine by Agbata.

“It is Agbala that developed the shrine and put structures there in order if not the entire place would have been bushy. When he was doing these things he didn’t know that he will be appointed the Chief Priest,” he stated

Among those in attendance included high court judges, magistrates, lawyers, clients to Agbata, relations, friends and well wishers
