80-Year-Old Grandfather Caught as NDLEA Uncovers Web of Drug Trafficking

An astonishing revelation has emerged from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) as an 80-year-old grandfather, Aremu Shojobi, was apprehended with 14 kilograms of cannabis at his Iyana Ipaja residence.

Shojobi, who confessed to selling illicit drugs for 25 years, sourced his supplies from Benin Republic, shocking authorities.

The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed that Shojobi’s arrest was part of a broader crackdown on illicit drug trafficking.

Other significant seizures include:

– 25 million pills of tapentadol and 350,000 bottles of codeine-based syrup recovered at Tincan port complex, valued at N14.95 billion.

– 226 kg of cannabis seized from homes of community leader Alhaji Bashir Mohammed Talba’s wives and son in Badagry.

– 720 blocks of Arizona cannabis weighing 390 kg intercepted in Ojo.

– 38-year-old Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony arrested with 76 wraps of cocaine at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
