LANDIKOTAL: The Khyber police launched a significant operation against drug dealers and trafficking the Landikotal, busted a gang by seizing 4 kilograms of ice and arrested two suspects, police officials said on Tuesday.
Station House Officer Adnan Afridi said that on the directives of district police officer Rai Mazhar Iqbal the police constituted a raiding party led by SHO Adnan Afridi and additional SHO Azmat Wali Shinwari. He said they in the very first raid conducted at Pasidkhel taxi stand in Landikotal Bazaar they recovered four and half(4.5kg) kilograms of Ice drug and arrested two persons.
The arrested suspects were identified as Yaseen, son of Shah Hussain, a resident of Fatmikhel, and Zahoor, son of Shah Zaman, a resident of Pirokhel, Landikotal.
Adnan Afridi said during preliminary investigations, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the illegal substance trade. He said that the arrested persons admitted that they had smuggled ice drug from neighboring country Afghanistan and further to smuggle it across various regions of the country.
DPO Khyber Rai Mazhar Iqbal emphasized that operations against traffickers would be continued until drug dealers and smugglers are eradicated from the district.
