Corps members urged to go for skills capable of making them self-reliant, employers of labour

 Retire Director, Ventures, NYSC Directorate Headquarters, Abuja, Mrs Ann Ibe has charged Corps Members to go for skills that will make them self reliant and employers of labour.

Ibe gave the charge at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area while delivering a motivational lecture to the 2024 Batch B, Steam 2 Corps Members deployed to Anambra State.

She described Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) as a well thought out programme by the NYSC targeted at amplifying the aspect of the objectives of the scheme that dwel on the inculcation of the spirit of self reliance of the Nigerian Youths.

“Since the introduction of SAED in 2012, a significant percentage of the Corps Members have keyed into the programme, and have made remarkable progress in their business ventures

“By Corps Members pulling their talents, innovation and creative acumen together to do ventures, the prevailing challenges in the country will be solved,” she added.

The Director further cautioned youths against quest to travel out of the country, without requisite documents and concrete plans of what they would do in those places.
