Ahead the primary of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to select who flies the party flag in September 28 LGA election, the industrial town of Nnewi in Nnewi North Council Area has been thrown into an uneasy calm.
Aspirants under the ruling APGA have declared their intentions, campaigned vigorously until the party chairman, Hon Tony Muodielo (Klassic) on Sunday night dropped a bomb shell that the leadership of party in the state has instructed him to deliver one of the contenders, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, even when his loyalty to the party does not measure up to those against him, and his paraded educational qualifications being in serious doubt.
Earlier before that day, the party’s critical Stakeholders have met in the palatial residence of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Innoson Motor Manufacturing Company, Chief Innocent Chukwuma (Ifediaso Nnewi) to agree on a particular candidate, which ended in a deadlock while leaving the most popular candidate from the market leadership visibly accepted without any blemish and capable to emerge victorious in the main election.
Before the meeting, certain individuals have gone ahead to convince the ‘bigmen’ that a lecturer in Federal Polytechnic Oko, Hon Okey Offor should be considered, even though his past records, character and personality were not acceptable to the Stakeholders and party members in the commercial city.
Since Hon. Muodielo whispered to ears of the party faithful that he has been instructed to deliver Hon Anazodo, the industrial town of Nnewi has been thrown into a frenzy agitations.
Even the organizers of the earliest stakeholders meeting were said to be unfavourably disposed to the emergence of Anazodo who was said to be ANOINTED by Chief Cletus Ibeto from Otolo-Nnewi.
Dirty rumour about how Hon Anazodo became the preferred CHOICE of the Anambra State Executive Council of APGA has continued to spread like wild bush fire.
While most of the APGA faithful are whispering their discontent and probably playing the ostrich over the matter, a man has gone to the mountain top to shake the table.
The man actually wants Ndi Nnewi home and abroad to know about the time bomb ready to explode in the industrial cum commercial town.
The TABLE SHAKER is Chief Igweamaka Orajuiba (Obejirinasa).
In his Save Our Soul(SOS) to the Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo, the table shaker made some stinking revelations.
He actually indicted a very wealthy business tycoon and the strongman of Anambra politics, Chief Cletus Ibeto, Obi Bennett Chukwuemeka Okafor(Obi Umudim), Uzochukwu Anyegwu(PG) Umudim and some others of plotting to hijack the process.
Obejirinasa said that the fate of Umudim-Nnewi over their CHOICE of who they present as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate was actually sealed on August 10, 2024 in the Otolo-Nnewi residence of Chief Ibeto.
The twenty minutes revelations by Obejirinasa was said to have jolted other critical stakeholders in Nnewi who inturn rush to Anawbia Governor’s Lodge and Government House, Awka to checkmate Chief Ibeto and Obi Umudim.
A source at Governor’s Lodge said that the Commisioner for Industry, Mr Christian Udechukwu, a gentleman per excellence has equally stormed his boss’s lodge over the matter.
Many other Stakeholders in Nnewi who have links with the Anambra State number one man have thrown their cap into the ring to ensure that the most popular and most credible aspirant get the APGA ticket for Nnewi North LGA council elections.
As it is now, it appears time has come for the ‘who is who’ that has any form of relationship with Prof Charles Soludo to flaunt it.
While the silent combustion continues, all eyes of Ndi-Nnewi home and abroad are on the Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo (Odenigbo) for the final master stroke.
