The critical stakeholders of Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State have decided to micro zone the Chairmanship position to Umudim-Nnewi Ward one.

The decision became imperative in an attempt to ensure fairness and justice for Ward 1 Umudim, which has not been privileged to produce the chairman of the council since inception.

A stakeholder who attended the meeting but however pleaded for anonymity said, “The decision was basically to accommodate microzonning arrangement since Umudim ward 2 had enjoyed the position of Local Government Chairman as TC through Hon Francis Omo okeke, Calsiter Adimachukwu (Mmirioma) and Emeka Ojukwu Jr. As Sole Admin and TC.

“Also going to the House of Assembly twice through, Hon Okoye  and Hon Amala Anazodo without Ward 1 getting any of those positions.

“Hence, in the spirit of how Nnewi maintains rotational principles, which is allowing Umudim at this time that even the party at the state level is taking a different decision, should allow for Ward 1 take it.

“Especially as they possess the best aspirant in the person of Bro Dennis Ikegwuonu who has the capacity to easily win the election for the party while carrying all the party faithful and the aspirants along with his exceptional track record/achievements in the Market, the church and community, which testimonies are visible and verifiable.

“Finally the Nnewi major stakeholders decided that all the aspirants who were present at the meeting having presented their manifestoes, should get to the party for a more acceptable consensus/primary decision,”
