Anambra LGA Election: NULGE warns against frivolous litigations

Ahead the September 28th Anambra State Local Government elections,  the  President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Nicholas Aromeh has warned politicians against frivolous litigations.

Comrade Aromeh dropped the warning while receiving in audience, the Anambra West LGA chairman of NULGE, Comrade Ogochukwu Obagha and her team. 

He pointed out that the Supreme Court’s judgement on the local government elections is declarative noting that the judgement categorically said that should any governor fail to conduct the LGA polls within 90 days, the federal allocation coming to the state  for its local governments would be seized.

“So on this note, Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has slated September 28th for the so much awaited LGA polls to beat the time limit given by the Supreme Court. Mr Governor has done well.

“I think that what the politicians in Anambra State should do is to give ANSIEC maximum support by going to the polls and vote for a popular candidate in any political party of their choice. 

Aromeh appealed to some of the political parties that have instituted court actions over the LGA polls already to withdraw their petitions for  holistic interest and development of the state.

He added that Gov Charles Soludo has not done bad for providing enabling environment for the LGA polls to meet the condition set by the Supreme Court, so that the state would not lag behind. 

The NULGE boss also called on all the residents of the state to support Gov Soludo’s effort towards the conduct of LGA elections.

Earlier, the Anambra West Branch Chairman of NULGE, Comrade Obagha appealed for collective supports of the LGA workers in the state for the new president.

He however urged Aromeh to continue from where his predecessor stopped and as well create a peaceful atmosphere to better the lots of everybody in Anambra Civil Service and those of them in the union.
