Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has once again urged Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, Peter Obi to return to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

He extended the invitation during the funeral mass of the late Bonaventure Emeka Okolo at the Sacred Heart Church in Okunu Eziora Ozubulu.

Expressing sympathy over Obi’s current political situation, Soludo encouraged Obi to rejoin APGA to contest the 2023 Presidential election, pledging the party’s willingness to welcome him back to APGA.

The governor who referred to his earlier advice from March 2022, underscored the crucial role APGA plays in the political landscape for Ndigbo’s engagement with the wider Nigerian polity.

“Labour Party is currently in shambles and has not yielded the desired results for you. I sympathize with you, Peter. Whenever you’re ready, we will welcome you back to APGA.”

Soludo’s comments highlight his view on the challenges faced by Obi since his departure from APGA to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later the Labour Party (LP).

Political observers have argued that Soludo, through the open invitation, has stressed his belief in APGA’s significance and potential benefits for Obi’s political career if he decides to return. The ball is now in Obi’s court.
