Security: Former APGA youth leader applauds Gov Soludo

The former  All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) youth leader, Mr. Ferguson Okpara has applauded the Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo for his efforts towards securing the lives and properties of Ndi-Anambra.

Mr Okpara said as a matter of fact that no governor in Nigeria today has done one quarter of what Prof Soludo has done in the area of securing people’s lives and properties since he assumed office two years ago.

The former APGA youth leader stated this while reacting to a statement that allegedly emanated from  the immediate past National  Youth Leader of APGA, Mr. Anselm Chinedu Nnebife, who claimed in his recent statement that the Anambra State number one man has failed woefully in areas of security.

Opkara appealed to Ndi-Anambra to ignore the call made by Mr.Nnebife asking Ndi,-Anambra not to vote for Gov Soludo for second tenure, reminding the ardent critics of the administration of the day that the issue of security is a national matter.

He argued that the issue of insecurity in Anambra State started even when the immediate past governor, Chief Willie Obiano was in office, adding that Gov Soludo has gone to some extent in coming up with a functional strategy to reduce insecurity to the barest minimum.

Okpara made clear to the chronic critiques in the state and beyond that the issue of insecurity which was initially put at 85% rate when Gov Soludo took over rein of leadership has reduced to 25%.

The former APGA youth leader who said that Ndi-Anambra are happy with the developmental policies of the present government in Anambra State, maintained that the security personnel in the state are now well equipped.

Okpara challenged Mr. Nnebife to come out and present his score cards to Ndi-Anambra when he was the National Youth Leader of APGA, arguing that Mr.Nnebife and his cohorts were bent on milking the resources of the state.

“Mr. Nnebife and his supporters have no impetus or right to go on air to make such a scandalous statement against APGA so as to demean the party’s hard earned image as one of most progressive political parties in Nigeria today.

“Before now people can hardly come out and go about their normal businesses in some parts of the State like Osumoghu, Lilu and other communities in Ihiala LGA, Ogbaru and some towns in Orumba North LGA because of the activities of  unknown gunmen.

“Anambra State has changed for better, Gov Soludo is doing his best to unearth the perpetrators of insecurity in the state and send them on perpetual exile by not allowing what that is currently happening in the North -East, North -West and North-Central where the insurgents have taken over some States, LGAs and communities to be replicated in Anambra State.

The former national youth leader of APGA assured that Gov Soludo has bright chances of wining the 2025 governorship election, considering his unparalleled achievements in roads construction in the state among other developmental strides.
