The State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Anambra State, Mrs Blessing Ekene Iruma, has been conferred with an Award by the Nigerian Red Cross Society in the State
The award was given by the state Branch led by the Chairman, Prof. Charity Emerie, during an event to commemorate the World Red Cross Day, 2024, at the Women Development Centre, Awka.
Handing over the award plaque to Iruma, National President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Prince Oluyemisi A. Adeaga, said the award was given to the NYSC Coordinator in recognition of her impact on Leadership.
Responding shortly after receiving the award, Mrs Ịrụma , said she dedicated the award to staff and Corps Members of NYSC Anambra Secretariat, for their hard work, dedication and commitment which have been invaluable .
She described the award as a reminder of the importance of the objectives of the NYSC as a vehicle to foster national unity, social integration and community development.
Among the recipients of the Awards alongside Iruma include, the Anambra State Commissioner of Health, Dr Afam Obidike. Founder of Life International Hospital Awka, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu and the Sector Commander, FRSC, Adeoye Irelewuyi.
