Hardship: Women Group Canvases Social Welfare, Employment for Less privileged

A Group, United Business Women Association of Nigeria and Diaspora (UBWA) has made a strong case for provision of welfare services and jobs for the less privileged in view of the biting economic hardship across the nation.

The group called on those occupying leadership positions to as a matter of urgency initiate and implement life saving measures to rescue already overburdened youths from temptation of negative indulgences.

The women made the plea through the association’s  Zonal Coordinator,

Hon Chinyere Ihejirika,  when she led the South East  Coordinators on a courtesy visit to the founder and President of the association  ,Ambassador Nkiruka Duru, in her office at Onitsha, Anambra state.

Hon Ihejirika explained that the aim of the visit was to  appreciate the Founder of the organisation for her doggedness in helping the needy, widows and also giving  voice to the voiceless  women in the society.

While underscoring the importance of policy makers and political leaders involvement in providing succour to the vulnerable population,she extolled the founder for her unwavering commitment to the ideals of the association and uplifting humanity from shackles of poverty.

In her response, the Founder of the association,Dr Nkiruka Duru, commended the South East Coordinators for considering it worthy to visit her even as she praised the spirit of team work existing among the members.

Ambassador Duru pointed out that she felt fullfilled receiving Coordinators from Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Abia States after which she issued letters of appointment and certificates to authenticate their posts.

The State Coordinators,then, expressed their commitment and determination to work tirelessly and conscientiously to ensure realisation of the aims and objectives of the body.

The  Coordinators are  Ebonyi; Hon Loveth Eberechi, LAbia; Hon Amaka Uche Onuzulike, Imo;  Hon Jane Charles Okoroji, 

Anambra; Hon Chinenye Okpalachukwu and Enugu; Hon Gladys Ositadinma
