The Traditional Ruler of Oraifite in Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State, HRH Igwe Dr Daniel Udoji has appealed to President Ahmed Tinubu to tackle the issue of hunger, starvation and high level of unemployment across the country.
Igwe Udoji made the appeal during his post Ofala festival press briefing which held in his palace in Oraifite.
Igwe Udoji said that the high level of hunger and starvation in the land has become unbearable for many households in the country.
“The level of of hunger and starvation across the country is however unprecedented, it is my desire that the Federal Government under the watch of President Tinubu will do something urgently to ameliorate the suffering of teeming Nigerians. Closely related to the issue of poverty is the near collapsed of security apparatus across the country, I commend the security operatives who are on the front line of checkmating insecurity. Some of them have paid the supreme sacrifice in the course of doing their legitimate duties. May their souls rest in peace.” Igwe Udoji noted.
He stressed the need for federal government to deploy kinetic and non kinetic approach to solving the issue of insecurity in the land.
HRH, Igwe Dr Udoji commended the Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo for his transformational leadership he has occasioned in the state.
“The administration of Prof Charles Soludo since it came on board has introduced certain positive innovation to governance. He is working tirelessly on the mantra of building a prosperous and liveable Homeland. The governor has made it imperative that he was going to use Okpoko community in Ogbaru LGA as a model for what he would occasion in Anambra State.
“In doing that, roads are being rehabilitated and reconstructed across the state, the menace of touts and touting are also given a fight, the 1 Youth 2 Skills initiative of the government of the day in Anambra State is commendable. Prof Soludo on assumption of office employed 5000 teachers to boost teaching and learning in the schools across the state, he has commenced the employment process of additional 3000 teachers to boost the educational sector.
“Health Officials have been employed to man the state hospitals so that they can effectively discharge their responsibilities as primary and secondary health care providers, this is indeed a welcomed development. In as much as I am not here today to blow the trumpet of the administration of the day but I am of the view that if a person or a government is doing well such should be commended, he said.
Igwe Dr Udoji however urged Ndi-Anambra home and abroad and residents alike to continue to support the administration of the day and that all forms of distractions should be avoided.
The paramount who commended his subjects for being law abiding and their support towards the Ofala festival urged them to continue to carry out their civic responsibilities even as he called on government at all levels to consider Oraifite as investment destination.
