Convoke peace, unity dialogue – IPAN urges Tinubu

Igbos For Progressive And United Nationhood (IPAN) has advised on President Bola Tinubu to urgently call for a peace and unity dialogue where Nigerians would agree on the best way forward, with every tribe well represented.

National President, Comrade Lawrence Onuzulike made the call on ABS TV “Good Morning Anambra” and ABS Radio “Nzuko Anambra”, while discussing on the topic “Nation Building, A Collective Effort”.

He argued that nation-building was almost impossible to achieve with the current rate of hatred and division playing out in the country.

He said, “I call on the President to as a matter of urgency call for a peace and unity dialogue, where Nigerians will agree on the best way forward, with every tribe well represented.

“In this way, all tribes will feel comfortable, involved, respected and proud of being part of the Nigeria.

“Nation-building is almost impossible to achieve with the current rate of hatred and division playing out in the country.

“Nation-building will yield faster and better results when the citizens contribute happily.”

The IPAN boss also called on the President to quickly switch to implementing people-oriented programmes and to prioritize reducing the sufferings of Nigerians.

Decrying increasing sufferings Nigerians were passing through occasioned by subsidy removal without first implementing measures to cushion its effects on the citizens, Onuzulike regretted that the situation has led to inflation, with average Nigerians barely able to feed, afford transportation, healthcare and other basic things.
