Maximize Nigeria’s rich culture to develop yourselves, society – NYSC tells youths

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State has described its periodic cultural carnival as an avenue to showcase Nigeria’s rich culture.

State Coordinator, Mrs Blessing Iruma disclosed this during the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 corps members’ display of cultures of ten out of more than 300 ethnic nationalisties in the country at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka Local Government Area.

She said some aspects of the cultural heritage including music, traditional food, systems of marriage as well as art could be harvested and turned into wealth through exportation.

She urged youth organisations in various communities to maximise benefits of the Nigerian culture to develop themselves and the society at large.

She said, “Some aspects of the culture like music, traditional food, systems of marriage as well as art can be carefully harvested and turned into wealth by exporting them.

“Through such means, many Nigerian youths can be gainfully employed.

“Look at the benefits of the Nigerian culture, harvest them and use them to develop self and the society at large.”

The results of the Cultural Carnival competition are as follows: first position went to 4 platoon, second to third platoon while the third position was merited by 10 platoon.
