Pakistan Customs seizes Indian made goods  at Torkham

TORKHAM: Pakistan customs appraisment officials on Friday have seized millions of rupees Indian made goods at Torkham border,officials said. 

Custom Superintendent Mujahid Khan and inspector Muhammad Ayaz Khan told media that acting on a tip-off they stopped two empty trucks(C-16199) and (E-7273) coming from Afghanistsn. He said they recovered 24320 pakcs of betels, 21400,48 kilograms steel made nails,4800 packets of fire works items and other goods from the hidden cavities of the teucks.

The official said the worth of the seized items in open market was around 11 million rupees. 

Mujahid said on the directions of customs appraisment collector Peshawar they have tightened checking searching mechanism to curb all kind of smuggling from Afghanistan. He said the drivers and trucks have been challenged and started investigation against them.

Those arrested were identified as Muhammad Qasim and Mian Abdullah Jan.
