EPL: Arsenal faces Tottenham on Sunday in a local derby

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have similar records heading into the Premier League clash at the Emirates.

Both clubs sit on 13 points from their opening five games.

Mikel Arteta’s side come into the mouthwatering clash following a 4-0 thumping of PSV in the Champions League in midweek.

However, the goals have not been flowing in the league. Arsenal are the only team in the top seven spots yet to hit double figures in goals.

It appears Arteta has adopted a slightly more conservative approach to his side’s attacking play. But even the most optimistic of Spurs fans will not be holding out hope of keeping the Gunners on nine top-flight goals this weekend.

Tottenham are still unbeaten in the league since Ange Postecoglou took over and have only performed worse than a perfect Manchester City so far this term.

Sunday’s contest will be the 208th competitive North London derby since Arsenal and Spurs first locked horns in 1896.

Arteta’s men have won four of the last five meetings with their arch-rivals, who have gone an unlucky 13 years without winning a top-flight game on Emirates soil.

It will be the first Derby without Arsenal’s tormentor-in-chief, Harry Kane.

“Well obviously he’s a special player and everything was going through him,” Arteta said.

“He was the one that glued everything together and he did it in many different ways from many different areas of the pitch.

“Now it’s a bit different. I think they have a different style from the last two coaches as well there for sure. They have some specificity in some movements that they make with certain players, so I think it’s a very different team.” He asserted.
