Anambra pupils learning in vibrating classrooms

Pupils of Central School Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State have raised the alarm over deplorable condition of buildings in the school.

They said the storey buildings in the school were faulty and risky as they vibrate whenever they jumped on them.

Speaking, the Headteacher, Mrs Uzoma Umealaike called on government to come to their aid to prevent avoidable calamity

Umealaike who said she was newly transferred to the school, said they were compelled to make use of the classrooms in those buildings for teaching and learning as they had no alternative.

She said, “The storey buildings in the school premises have become faulty and risky.

“The buildings are faulty to the extent they vibrate whenever pupils are jumping on them.

“Both teachers and pupils are still using the classrooms for teaching and learning because they have no alternative.

“We call on to the government to urgently intervene to prevent avoidable tragedy.”
