He pointed out that the governor’s visit was so timely and reassuring as people were already getting worried about the deplorable state of roads in Nnewi.

“Mr Governor has proved to be a leader with listening ears, he visited the popular Nwanyi-Imo bus stop in Nnewi and see things for himself before he eventually flagged off the  construction of Edo Ezemewi/Bank Road after the law maker representing Nnewi North constituency in the House of Assembly,  Hon Augustine Onyekachukwu  Ike. Ike Edoji moved the motion for the visit on floor of the Assembly.” He noted.

Obi Obiofia also congratulated the National Leader of the Young Progressives Party (YPP)  who is also the senator representing Anambra South senatorial district, Sen Ifeanyi Ubah for the overall development of Nnewi as he recalled the pivotal role played by the Prince of the Senate towards emergence of Hon Ike Edoji.

“With the flag off of the strategic roads, we are confident that work will begin in earnest so that there would be free movement of persons and goods in the industrial town.

“Of course, with good road network in Nnewi, there would be ease of doing business and the precious time wasted in traffic logjam would be a thing of the past and the dream of having a liveable and prosperous Anambra State would have been partly realized.

“I also appeal to our beloved governor, Prof Charles Soludo to impress it on the contractors handling the road construction in Nnewi and other towns in Anambra State to do a good job which would stand the test of time.” Mmadukaejiaka Nnewi stressed.

He noted that most of roads in the state are in deplorable condition because quality job was not done by the incumbent governor’s predecessors.
