PESHAWAR: Residents of Wana Waziristan held Olasi Pasoon(tribe unity) meeting on Friday, in which they showed a great concern over the recent number of untoward incidents in the district.
The meeting discussed different incidents including theft, robbery, riots, drugs, weapons, law and order situation in the markets, increase in the number of tinted glasses vehicles and armed men in Waziristan were discussed in detail.
Pashtun Tahafuz Movement leaders were specially invited to attend the important meeting.
Noor Zaman Wazir from ANP, Amanullah of PPP, Ashfaq Wazir of PKMAP, JI leader Nadeem Wazir, Advocate Ajmal Wazir from Lawyers, PTI local leader Haroon, Imran from NDM, Shahzad Wazir from PTM, Taj Wazir from the business community and social personality Iqbal Wazir among others participated.
“Olasi Pasoon issued a unanimous statement that Deputy Commissioner District Lower South Waziristan should call a meeting of line departments and ask them that maintaining law and order was their responsibility and state was legally obliged to maintain peace.
The statement said that state within a state was not acceptable to the people, and they did not need peace through any kind of armed groups.
On January 6, 2023, the civil and military institutions had agreed on ten points regarding peace and order with “Olasi Pasoon,” in which most of the demands have not been implemented yet.
The meeting said that the progress in their ten demands and the reasons for non-progress on some demands and suggestions to ensure its implementation would be presented to officials.
They said that Olasi Pasoon would place a deadline asking the civil administration to ensure the plagdges.
Olasi Pasoon threatened that if authorities failed to meet their words they call a grand meeting soon for chalking out their next plan.
