Arsenal are reportedly considering making a €45 million offer to sign Real Madrid defender David Alaba this summer.
Sources claimed that the Gunners are keen to bolster manager, Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer after the Spaniard led the club to finish in second position on the Premier League table last season behind champions Manchester City.
Arsenal are reportedly offering to increase Alaba’s annual net salary to €15 million — €3 million more than he presently pockets at Real Madrid.
Alaba. 31, is also believed to be enticed by the English Premier League (EPL).
The report added that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is apparently undecided on what action the club will take if an offer for Alaba arrives.
However, signing Alaba won’t be easy as the Austria international is happy playing under Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and believes he made the right choice of joining Los Blancos from Bayern Munich on a free transfer.
Alaba is a highly versatile player, capable of playing anywhere down the left flank, in central defence and in midfield, but he has largely been used as a centre-back by Real Madrid.
