ANSS Foundation Canada elects Board of Directors

TORONTO: The Afghan Network Social Service(ANSS) foundation elected members Board of Directors on Sunday.

Election Committee was comprised of Chairman Zubair Arif and members were Khadim Hussain, Bilal Khan Journalist Shafaq, Ms. Shinwari.

Hundreds of ANSS members in Canada casted their votes. Polling was continued from 9am to 5 pm local time.

39 candidates contested the which 21 were successfully secured seats as member board of dorectors.

Shah Khalid Yousfzai elected as Cheif Executive Officer(CEO).

Journalist Fazal Amin Shinwari,hailing from Landikotal,currently living in Toronto has also elected as ANSS board of director member.

The Afghan Network For Social Services (ANSS) was established in 2017 in Toronto with the noble objectives to  provide professional,social,moral services to refugees and newcomers in need.

Speaking on the occasion, ANSS CEO Shah Khalid Yousfzai Khalid shed light on the aims and objectives of the organization

He said ANNS is well known NGO in Canada providing support and guidence to refugees. 

He said ANNS played a commendable role in Canada during the Corona epidemic by distributing free food and essential items to hundreds of needy families.

Fazal Amin Shinwari said that Canadian government appreciated ANSS team work and awarded them a certificate of acknowledgement for their outstanding contributions.

Shinwari said ANSS offers a wide range  free of services to support newcomers Refuges in finding housing, learning Canada’s two official languages either English or French, enrolling in educational institutions, credential assessment, legal counselling. 

Fazal Amin Shunwari said they also support poor families in Afghanistan who were in need of food,clothes and  medicines. 

He said they work with refugees to help preserve their culture and language of origin, provision of recreational and educational programs for women, youth and seniors, and educating communities about environment protection, health, and nutrition promotion, support in finding employment for newcomers, training for capacity building, vocational workshops, computer education and networking new comers and professionals in Toronto and across Canada.

Amin praised the ANSS founder Zarawar Mufakir for bringing togather Afghans and Pashtuns as team who work for social welfare of Pashtun comminity in Canada.
