…the new corps Marshal of the FRSC on assumption of office decided to effect expansion of office
Residents of IdemilI North Local Government Area of Anambra State have commended the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) for its resolve to site one of its area command offices in the area.
Transition Chairman, Sir Chuks Igboanua made the commendation during an official visit of Mrs G. I.Omeke, Deputy Corp Commander in charge of the Local Government Area Station Office in the state to the council headquarters at Ogidi.
He commended Omeke for her commitment to duty, urging her to keep it up.
Earlier, Omeke said the purpose of her visit was to brief him on the recent decision of the commission to request every state in Nigeria to create two Area Commands of the Corps in their domain.
She said the Commands would be different from the existing twelve Zonal offices overseeing the sector Commands with 725 unit Commands, with station offices created about 3 years ago.
“Having deployed the instrumentality of my office as the Officer in charge of FRSC in the 21 local government areas of the state, I discovered that Idemili north LGA is highly rated among other LGAs, judging from available statistical data and indices used in the selection,” she said.
The FRSC top official appreciated the Transition Chairman for granting her team audience to interact with him.
It will be recalled that the new corps Marshal of the FRSC, Dauda Ali, on assumption of office early in the year decided to effect further expansion of the office by creating Area Commands of the 36 states of the Federation.
