INEC staff raises alarm over threat to life

The presidential Collation officer for the presidential election in Nnewi South, Chinwe Isibor, an Associate Professor, has raised alarm that her life is in danger. 

She accused one of the Electoral officers EO from the Independent National Electoral Commission for being behind such plot. 

The alarm was raised inside the INEC collation hall in Awka Monday, during the announcement of presidential results of the political parties. 

The Presidential Returning Officer, Prof Nnenna Otti, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology FUTO, Owerri, had to halt proceedings. 

The Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Queen Elizabeth Agwu, summoned Isibor to her office to get actually what transpired. 

The collation Officer refused to compromise during the election and became an endangered specie. 

It was further gathered that the EO and others wanted her to raise the figure of one of the Presidential candidates but she resisted it. 

Some security operatives and senior INEC Staff provided protection to the REC’s officer, where she had personal interview with the REC.
