Fire fighters battle inferno at Anambra school

Men of Anambra State Fire Service on Thursday averted fire disaster at Comprehensive Secondary School, Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

The fire which started around 2pm was caused by reckless bush burning within the area.

The Daily Vendor gathered that no life or property was lost in the inferno.

Confirming the incident, Fire Chief, Engr Martin Agbili said quick response of his men assisted in controlling the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

He said, “At about 1401hrs (2.01pm) of today, Anambra State Fire Service received a distress call of bush fire at Comprehensive Secondary School, Nawfia.

“Immediately, we deployed our fire truck and firefighters to the scene of fire.

“Cause of Fire: Reckless burning of Bushes by hunters. Damage: No damages as we were able to control the Fire. Withdrawal Time: 1532hrs.”
