A secondary school and a hotel were on Wednesday gutted by fire in Anambra State.
Four classroom blocks were destroyed in the school located at Nawfia, while part of the hotel, located at Agulu was affected.
Both fire outbreaks were said to be caused by bush burning.
Confirming the incident, Fire Chief, Engr. Martin Agbili put the time of the incidents at 2.15pm and 3.46pm respectively.
He blamed the inferno on what he termed careless burning of bushes, saying damages on both facilities would have been great if not for quick intervention of his men.
He said, “At about 1415hrs of today, we received a distress call of fire outbreak which slightly encroached into Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu.
“Immediately, we deployed our fire truck and Fireghters to scene of fire. We were able to control the Fire and no property were affected in that Hotel.
