2023: Obi, Umeh, Odua others for victory awards in Onitsha

A Catholic organization, Justice Peace and Caritas Onitsha Region, JPCOR, Wednesday said it would honour Labour Party, LP, Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, along side five other politicans for their performance and comportment during this electioneering campaign era.

Making the disclosure, JPCOR planning committee chairman, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, stated that those prominent men and women of impeccable integrity and unblemish character to be honoured included, Chief Victor Umeh, who is LP candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Sen. Stella Odua, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Anambra North Senatorial District, and Hon. Linda Ikpeazu, PDP candidate for Onitsha North/South Federal constituency.

Others are, Chief Jude Umennajiego, LP candidate for State House of Assembly, Onitsha South 2, Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, Hon. Tony Chinedum and Chief Chinedu Osuji.

Comrade Ezekwueme, flanked by the secretary, Mrs Ebele Attiah, and Regional chairperson, Mrs Cordelia Mba, said they were chosen based on their remarkable and outstanding achievements in their various fields of human endeavour to be honoured Sunday, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Inland town Onitsha.

Not left out in the hononary award  are, business mogul and philanthropist, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, CEO Innoson Group of Companies, Chief George Muoghalu, MD/CEO National Inland Waterways Authority, who is also Father of the day, and Episcopal Vicar, Onitsha Region, Very Rev.Fr.Johnbosco Okafor, and Immediate past JDPC Director , Rev.Fr.Dr.Martin Onukwuba.

According to Ezekwueme, the awardees were selected on merit and their firm believe in the assertion of John Holmes, “the only good motive in life is the motive of doing good for one’s country and her citizens.In addition to postulation of St Mother Theresa of Calcutta, saying, “one has not lived  unless he lives for others”

Highlights of the event which Chief Joe Ogbuli, will chairman, include, public lecture with the theme, “Roles of JDPC in Nation Building,” by JDPC Onitsha Archdiocesan director, Rev.Fr.Edwin Udoye, and “Citizens Active Participation in Democratic Process”, by Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme.
