…Customs collector says goods were seized in two separate raids
TORKHAM: Customs authoroties seized foreign goods million of rupees and foreign currency at Torkham, officials said on Sunday.
Collector customs Torkham Amjadur Rehman told The News that they in two different raids recovered different non custom paid items worth Rs450 million. He said that they stopped a coil loaded truck coming from Afghanistan and recovered 322 heavy truck tyres and medicines.

In other action, custom enforcement Moeenuddin Wani said they stopped a passenger identified as Musam Khan and recovered US dollars 10,000 from his posission. He was arrested and case registered against him. He said they also recovered US dollars 5,000 from a woman and challaned her for further investigation.He said custom staff was put on high alert to curb the smuggling.
