…the abductors were said to have hijacked Oparinde’s car and whisked him away
A businessman, Segun Oparinde, has been abducted by gunmen who ambushed him at the entrance of his house at Imeko, in the Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The incident sources claimed happened at about 11.30pm on Tuesday.
The gunmen allegedly shot Oparinde’s in-law, Bello Ibrahim, who rushed out when he heard the businessman shouting for help.
The assailants were said to have hijacked Oparinde’s car and whisked him away.
The gunmen after driving to a location, abandoned the vehicle and entered a bush.
Oparinde’s in-law another source claimed was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The source said, “His in-law, Bello Ibrahim, who was shot, is receiving treatment at an hospital. His vehicle was later seen this morning at Igbo Ifa Iwa Street, Imeko town.
“It was abandoned in the main town. They have dragged him (Oparinde) into the bush. We are yet to get any help from security agencies. We have called the police and the Amotekun Corps. We want the government to help us rescue him.”
The Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) for the command Abimbola Oyeyemi when contacted, pleaded for some time to get details of the incident.
