‘Four human smugglers operating via Torkham border arrested’
TORKHAM: Federal Investigation Agency and Pakistan customs arrested human smugglers and seized weapons in two different raids at Torkham border, officials said on Saturday.
In the first raid, custom official Sadiq Akbar said that a truck(47377-Kabul) loaded with fresh fruits was searched when it entered Pakistan. He said they recovered 12 pistols from its hidden cavities. He said the driver managed to flee while they took the truck into their custody.
In an other raid, federal investigation agency team came from Peshawar arrested four human smugglers allegedly involved in human smuggling via Torkham border.
An official on the condition of anonymity told this scribe that they had received secrete information that some people were taking money and help the passengers to cross the Torkham border illegally.
He said they constituted a team and raided at various places in Torkham border town. He said four persons identified as Naveedullah, Afshar Khan,Rahmanullah and Farman Khan were arrested on the spot. He said they shifted to lock up and investigation started from them.
