…as more eyewitness account unfold likely motive
A likely motive for Sunday’s gun attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South senatorial district in the National Assembly has emerged.
Further investigation by this reporter revealed from bystanders that witnessed the ugly incident first hand gave a more lucid purpose for bloody attack which left no fewer than ten (10)persons including six security personnel and four civilians dead.
The information revealed that one Chief Onyeka Nnoli, -a Lagos-based businessman cum clearing agent might have been trailed from Nri in Anaocha council area of Anambra State by some gunmen.
They were said to have double-crossed and blocked his vehicle at the Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu market intersection, and took him captive, apparently for a ransom.
At that point they were said to have shot into the air in a bid to scare people away and aid their escape bid.
That was when Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy arrived the scene, and hell was let loose.
Instantly the spot became a war-like zone as bullets flew from virtually all directions.
