Saudi Arabian FA hungers for Cristiano Ronaldo

The president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser Al-Misehal, said his country would love to have a player in the status of Cristiano Ronaldo in one of their local clubs.

The 37-year-old Portugal international was said to have informed the Red Devils hierarchy of his desire to leave Old Trafford over the summer and while his agent, Jorge Mendes, made some efforts to see the superstar’s dreams come through, they weren’t able to find a sutable destination.

The legendary goalmachine sought to play in a Champions League team with United failing to qualify for Europe’s elite competition.

But offers came from Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, rival clubs from the Saudi Pro League, but the 37-year-old rejected both proposals.

“We would love to see a player like Cristiano Ronaldo playing in the Saudi league,

“It would bring a huge positive feedback and it would be big news for everyone.” He said.
