CSOs, NANS Gives Buhari 5 Days Ultimatum To Reverse Electricity Tariff, Fuel Price

Coalition of Civil Societies in Osun State and National Associational of Nigerian Students (NANS), have given President Muhammadu Buhari, a five day ultimatum to return to previous status, the pump price of petroleum products and electricity tariff.

The groups staged a protest on Friday, in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, demanding that the government reverses the pump price of petrol to N130 and also reverse other tariffs increase including that of electricity.

The DAILY VENDOR reported earlier that the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, had announced an increment in the pump price of petrol to N151.56 per litre.

The chairman of Osun Civil Societies Coalition, OCSC, Comrade Waheed Lawal, while leading the protest, bemoaned that President Muhammadu Buhari has failed Nigerians over unfulfilled promises he made during the electioneering process.

He said: “Nigeria belongs to all and the masses voted for President Muhammadu Buhari because of the promises he made during his campaign, but Buhari has failed Nigerians.”

Meanwhile, they gave the President, a period of five days to reverse petrol pump price and electricity tariff or face a mass riot from the public.
