Four persons sustained varying degrees of injury in a motor accident along Igboukwu-Oraeri road, Aguata, Anambra state.
The accident which occurred around 2.58pm, involved the bus with enlistment number JJT 899 YH and two motorcycles.
According to an eyewitness, the driver of the bus was seen drinking at the park at Uga, before taking off on the journey.
Confirming the incident, Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Kamal Musa said the Sector Commander, FRSC, Andrew Kumapayi expressed dismay over the incessant recklessness of drivers in Anambra State, particularly as it relates to dangerous and drunk driving.
He said, “A serious road traffic crash involving a bus with enlistment number JJT 899 YH and two motorcycles with registration numbers UML 417 QB and WS 407 ENU which occurred at 1458 hrs today August 16 2020.
“A total of four (4) victims (3) male adults and (1) female adult who were involved sustained varying degree of injuries were rushed to Apex hospital Igboukwu, by good Samaritans before the arrival of FRSC rescue team from Igboukwu Unit Command. No death recorded.
“FRSC operatives are on ground managing traffic and ensuring that obstruction caused are cleared.
“The sector Commander assures the general public that the drunk driver would be prosecuted accordingly to serve as deterrent to other motorists.”
