VEMARD Africa FC, a Nationwide League One (NLO) side will play host to Enyimba FC of Aba on Feb. 14 in their first major football match at their new base, Orumba North Council Area of Anambra.
Vemard, previously based in Enugu is packaging the grade (A) encounter with Peoples Elephant as the highpoint of the sensitisation activities to announce their arrival to the NEROS, Nanka as their new home.
Akonam Obiefuna, Director of Scorecard Productions, Consultants to Vemard Africa FC said former Super Eagles stars; Taribo West and Victor Ikpeba would participate in the game as special appearances.
Obiefuna said the club had winning the NLO and plying its trade in the Nigeria National League in 2020/2021 season as its immediate objectives.
A popular Rap Artist, Slow Dog will also thrill football fans with live music performance.
He said recruitment of talented football stars would follow soon after the sensitisation match to beef up the squad ahead of the season as well as giving them the opportunity for international exposure.
“VEMARD Africa Football Club is an NLO league side, with these initial ambitions which include to win the NLO and compete in NNL come 2020/2021 season,” he said.
The consultant said other activities of the day would include unveiling of club media officer, social media handles and awareness for the players scouting programme.
NEROS Stadium sitting in the serene town of Nanka with over 20,000 capacities is one of the best sports stadium in Anambra.
The stadium had played host to a good number of national and international rated matches.
