Gov Obiano’s Free Christmas Transportation Offer Deceptive – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has described the free Christmas transportation offer of Chief Willie Obiano led administration as a hoax.

The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Awka.

Nwangwu said Anambra people are not poverty stricken, and as such are not looking for handouts from the government, rather the people have been thrown into despondency because of the failure of Obiano’s administration to provide critical infrastructure.

“It’s amusing that the APGA government said they are providing free transportation for people in the spirit of Christmas but what is expected of the government is to empower the transportation sector by giving out loans to the operators.

“As it is with the government of the day, it is obvious that the scheme is another opportunity for the governor and his boys to milk the state in the name of free transportation for Christmas”, Nwangwu said.

The PDP spokesperson said, however if the APGA government is serious about alleviating the suffering of the masses in the state, something urgently should be done about the condition of the roads which have become death traps.

“People waste hours in traffic holdup caused by poor roads in the state, the immediate need of our people is the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the collapsed roads, they don’t need anyone to play Father Christmas to them with the resources of the state.” He said

The good people of Anambra State are fed up with the hide and seek game of Obiano’s government. He added.

Nwangwu recalled how many earth moving machines were rolled out during the last Anambra State governorship and House of Assembly elections but disappeared into thin air the moment the elections were over.

The latest attempt to deceive the people through free Christmas transportation has failed just like other attempts, he said.

He reassured the people of the state that PDP will give the state a credible alternative come 2021.
