Anambra State Police Command has confirmed rescue of two remaining victims abducted during the attack on a US convoy attack along Atani/Osamela road in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the State.
Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, had during a press conference on Thursday, disclosed that seven persons were murdered while two were still missing after Tuesday’s attack.
But Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga in a statement on Friday said the victims were rescued unhurt by joint security forces in the early hours of the day.
He added that operations were still ongoing.
He said, “In the early hours of today, 19/5/2023, the joint security forces rescued unhurt the two remaining victims abducted during the attack on a US convoy attack along Atani/Osamela road in Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State.
“Operations are still ongoing and further details shall be communicated, please.”
