150 youths get training on renewable energy in Anambra

Over one hundred and fifty unemployed youths in Idemili North and Idemili South Local Government Areas of Anambra State have been trained on renewable energy.

The training of the youths took place at Thomas Chidoka Center, Obosi, Idemili North Local Goverment Area.

Officials of Energy Commission of Nigeria took the participants through courses on renewable energy and devices. The training was powered by Orange Business Solutions and Services Ltd.

The Administrative Manager of Orange Business Solutions and Services Ltd, Amaka Ndieni in a comment said that the training was primarily meant to empower the unemployed youths in the two council areas.

She said that the participants should be able to fix devices of renewable energy.

Amaka said further that the participants would be given takeoff grants and kits so that they key into the business immediately.

Engr Ibrahim Bayo and other staffers of Energy Commission of Nigeria expressed optimism that the participants will go into the world of renewable energy and make living for themselves.

They said that the whole world is moving away from fossil fuels to renewable power like solar, wind and bio-gas.

Albert Paul, Chimezie Onugbogu and other participants who spoke with journalists expressed happiness for being considered for the empowerment training.

They said that with the take off grant and kits, they are ready to go fully into renewable energy sector.

The highlight of the training workshop which was made possible by a House of Representatives member, Hon. Obinna Chidoka, representing Idemili North and South federal constituency, was practical demonstration on how to install solar panels and presentation of kits as well as take off capital.
