PAKISTAN: 12th Pakistan vintage cars rally started from Karachi reached to the historical Khyber Pass on Saturday where it ended at the last hills top security check post Michni near the Torkham border.
More than forty different brands cars were the part of the rally which were decorated with different colours. They reached to Khyber Pass,the historical gateway in tribal district,where residents showered flowers on them.The cars rally later drove toward Pak-Afghan border where they ended the rally at Michni check post.The rally participants were briefed about the historical and stratigic background.
The rally was welcomed at various spots in Khyber district where children,elders and youth waved their hands and chanted slogans of Pakistan Zindabad.A number of children and wemon were also the part of the vintge cars rally.
Asim Durrani,the vintage cars rally organizer,told media at Michni check post that the aim of the vintage cars rally was to portrait the message of peace and security in Pakistan.He said peace has been restored at the cost of Pakistan army and Frontier Corps sacrifices rendered in the past years.
Durrani said tourists were taking keen interest to visit picnic and historical spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in merged districts.
“The government want to promote tourism in tribal districts as the vintage cars rally is the first step to encourage tourists to explore historical places and green vallies in ex-Fats”,Asim Durrani said. He added that they had started the rally from Karachi wherefrom they safely traveled and reached to Khyber district.
The vintage cars owners thanked Pakistan Army and frontier Corps(FC)for hospitality and organizing best possible facilities placed for them. Lunch was later served to the rally participanta in officers’ mess in Army garrison in Landikotal.
