12 killed, Police outpost set ablaze as Gunmen attack Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police command has confirmed the killing of no fewer than 12 persons by a yet to be identified gunmen when they attacked Sakajiki village in Kaura Namoda Emirate of the state.

Mohammed Shehu, the image maker of the command made this disclosure in a statement he issued to media men. 

Shehu however said the Commissioner of Police in the state, had deployed an additional squad for reinforcement, he noted that the casualties recorded in the incident would have been more if not for the timely intervention of the police operatives deployed to the area.

Shehu further disclosed that they arrived at about 9pm on Thursday and were at the area for several hours. He said the gunman also set several shops and other houses ablaze, including a police outpost in the area. 

The image maker then assured the people of the area of the command’s determination to redouble its efforts to ensure that banditry becomes a thing of the past in the state.
